Moms Across America reads this and is outraged by the lack of precaution the EPA chooses to exercise.

They are NOT protecting our children, but instead choosing to give more importance to the "studies" that show that glyphosate is "safe" by the chemical companies than on independent, world renowned, ( including MIT)  scientists, doctors and moms. This is erring on the side of corruption, not protection.

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine sitting down with the EPA in Washington DC with a team of esteemed PH.D scientists, lawyers and moms just as passionate as I am, about a chemical called glyphosate, which is sprayed on GMOs and our food crops.

Dr.Michael Hansen, scientist Consumers Union and Aimee Simpson lawyer Beyond Pesticides (not photographed) joined us at the EPA. Also with Anne Dietrich: President Truth in Labeling Coalition,  Sarach Cusack, DC MAA, Alexis Baden-Mayor Lawyer, Organic Consumers Asssoiciation, Zoe Swartz; PA and East Coast Leader MAA, Zen Honeycutt, Founder MAA, Dr. Kristen Pullen scientist Natural Resources Defense Council.

But there we were. Because of your support, your generous donations, your 10,000 + phone calls in 3 days, your posts about and emails to the EPA to recall Roundup, they took us seriously. 9 members of the pesticide Re-Review board listened to 11 of us for 2 hours instead of 1. They listened to your testimonials and the statistics of our health crisis in America. It was intense.

Because I was well prepared with a binder full of studies Nanette put together, and we had gone over every point witth a lawyer and scientist for three hours before the meeting, I was firm, resolved and clear about our demands. I spoke with all the love in my heart for my children and with all the conviction mother's have everywhere as I told them of the 10 reasons why they should Recall Roundup and the 12 points of Proposed Collateral Damage of Glyphosate.

Just to name a few:

Glyphosate is a patented ANTIBIOTIC. It destroys gut bacteria, where 70% of our immune system lies.

We submit that this directly correlates with Crohn's disease (damaged gut)which has increased 79% in the past ten years alone in children admitted to hospitals. Colitis (stomach ulcers) has tripled during this time as well. Allergies, autism, auto immune and asthma now impacts 1 out of 3 of our children.

It is an acknowledged endocrine disruptor, causing birth defects, infertility and sterility. 

The USA is currently #1 in the industrialzed world for infant death on day one. We have 50% more infants die on their first day of life than all of the industrialzed world combined. 

This directly correlates with pigs who ate GMO/Glyphosate sprayed feed and lost 30% of their young. Those sows with levels of glyphosate 3 X LOWER than our mom's levels in their breast milk, had 5 X HIGHER birth defects, miscarriages and loss of young.

Glyphosate BREAKS DOWN THE BLOOD BRAN BARRIER: allowing toxins into the brain.

Someone dies of Alzheimer's every 67 seconds in America today.

In 20 years from now, 1 out of 2 of our children will have autism if we continue at this rate.

Glyphosate is a CHELATOR: It holds or "makes unavailable" the vital nutrients of any living thing.

Vitamin deficiency is consistent in cancer patients. Cancer is now the number on killer of American children today.

More children die every year of cancer than all the casualties of 9/11.

1 out of 2 males and 1 out of 3 females are expected to get cancer in America. Over 117 million Americans have cancer.

As I shared these statistics, everyone got present to the huge cost to the health of America and how the benefit of the chemical glyphosate was obliterated.

Their eyes displayed dismay, understanding and even searched for more. I saw that we have EPA members on our side. They may not be able to act now, but they want to. They want us to push on and give them the reason to make a bold change. They want their children to be safe as much as you and I.
In other eyes, I saw denial, refusal and resistance. Their resignation weighed heavily in the air. I heard reasons, explanations and infuriating avoidance. I saw fear of change.
Some of the board members refused to see just how urgent this is. They refused to see that we are breastfeeding our babies RIGHT NOW, today and we need for them to be safe. NOW.
Despite our compelling binder of studies  and undeniable evidence through testimonials of mothers of risk of harm, they did not agree to our request to recall Roundup, or revoke the license of glyphosate. They did not agree to issue a simple statement advising mothers to eat organic. 
They did agree however, to continue working with us, to give us the protocol  for the upcoming scientific study of glyphosate in breast milk which was funded as a result of our preliminary testing, supported by Sustainable Pulse. They did agree to ask Monsanto for their breast milk testing that we have word they are conducting. They did agree to include include that study in their review of glyphosate, which happens only once every 15 years.

I hope you understand how profound your support is in turning their decision from one that supports the profits of corporations to one that protects the health of our children. We can make history together.

The Glyphosate Test Results are in and the results, considering that most of the moms and supporters tested are well aware of GMOs and glyphosate and have been avoiding them for several months or years, are alarming.

THANK YOU to all the moms and supporters who generously spent the time and money to send your urine and water samples in. Thank you to Sustainable Pulse for funding the tests for the breast milk samples and to the moms who paid to ship their samples over night.

Resumen:

Once a year in Southern California, the masses of people, 70,000 approximately, converge upon the Anaheim Convention Center to buy and sell natural foods at the NPEW or Natural Products Expo West. I had the opportunity to report on the show as a host of the Weekly Women GMO Free News Show.

You have never seen so many Non GMO Project Verified and USDA Organic  seals in one place. You have never seen so many delightful, happy people talking about how their products are GMO free, organic and Gluten free! As a mother of children with multiple allergies, this is a thrilling development. Trying to find all three, GMO free, organic and Gluten free is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack even in a health food store even in one of the most affluent areas of America. Most products are either gluten free or organic, not both. Or they are Non GMO Project verified but not gluten free or organic.

Why is it so hard to find these foods?

Or more importantly why do we even need gluten free, non GMO and organic?

Is it just a trend or marketing ploy?

When I asked the food manufacturers, many of them said “Organic is the future.” I was surprised that they did not elaborate, talk about pesticides, glyphosate or GMOs. Some like “Good Boy Organics” are fully aware and are actively supporting the grassroots movements. They even go a step further and have BioDynamic pasta sauce! Check it out!

But many others, I suspect, do not know why the trifecta: non GMO,organic and gluten free is so crucial to moms.

1 out of 2 American children now has some form of chronic illness such as asthma, allergies, auto immune disorders, autism, diabetes or obesity. If you do the math, based on past diagnosis, 1 out if 2 children will have autism in the next 20 years. This is a crisis. This is urgent. Moms across America are struggling daily with health and behavioral issues and we want solutions.

Many of us now believe we know those solutions, and the winning food trifecta is a key role.

Non GMO

In addition to the over 1300 studies showing GMO harm, found on www.GMOfreeUSA.com, the recent evidence from the *Samsel and Seneff paper shows a very strong correlation between glyphosate, the active chemical ingredient in RoundUp and these skyrocketing children’s health issues, (the most widely used pesticide/herbicide in the world) especially autism. Most GMOs are genetically engineered to withstand Roundup, are sprayed repeatedly during growing and these chemical does not wash off. A new Soybean paper showed GMO soy with drastically higher levels of glyphosate, proving it does not evaporate in the sun either. Soil testing has shown glyphosate to still be active a year after use.

Glyphosate has been show to destroy gut bacteria at .10 (one tenth) of a part per million in chickens.

The gut bacteria are the stronghold of 70% of our immune system. If you destroy the gut bacteria, which is likely what is happening when you eat the America diet which is 85% GMO and contaminated with glyphosate, your body’s gut bacteria can no longer produce Tryptophan*.

Without Tryptophan your body cannot produce Seratonin or Melatonin*. Seratonin makes it possible for the body to regulate insulin, so without healthy gut bacteria we are more likely to develop diabetes.  We know that diabetes has increased so much in America that in 13 years we will have no money left in the federal budget for anything except diabetes.

 Melatonin influences sleep, happiness, satiation when eating, impulse control, bi-polar behavior and even acts of violence. Obesity now impacts 40% of Americans, our kids are three times more likely to be drugged for mental illness than kids in other countries, and on average, there has been a school shooting in America every other day this year.  Violence and mental illness is beyond control. Something is impacting the health of America. The USA is the  #1 country in the world in expenditures for health and last on the list  of the top 17 most developed country in actual health results.

Organic means Non GMO seeds. It also means toxic pesticide free and glyphosate free.

Non organic is not just a more affordable chice, there is a cost: glyphosate is allowed to be sprayed on the soil before planting non organic crops and directly on many staple crops at harvest as a drying agent. They spray it directly on the non organic food crops we eat! We have recetly learned that the EPA has allowable levels of glyphosate on over 160 foods at hundreds of times higher than has been destroy gut bacteria. See the full list here.Sweet potatoes glyphosatelevels are 3ppm, Potatoes, 5ppm, tea 7ppm, corn 13ppm, and our live stock eats grains at 400 ppm. Glyphosate collects in the tissue of meat, making organic meat a very important choice.

Sin gluten

People with gluten sensitivity report irritability when they consume gluten/wheat. Huge numbers of children with autism have shown dramatically better behavior when gluten is removed from their diets. Many are also reporting autism symptoms dissapear when they eat completely organic. Moms Across America has over a hundred testimonials, many of them about autism.

Glyphosate is sprayed on wheat as a drying agent. Wheat is one of the number one foods of the American diet, in cereals, sandwich breads, pasta, commonly eaten at every meal. Gluten intolerance and Celiac’s disease now affects 18 million Americans. Reports by Samsel and Seneffs show that is most likely not just the highly refined processing of wheat/gluten, that is impacting health, but the glyphosate. This is why the trifecta of Non GMO,organic y gluten free is so important, and why the companies who choose to make these foods, that are ALL THREE, despite the difficulties, are not a trend or duping me with a marketing ploy. They are the winners.

The additional good news, is that in the process, you avoid other toxic chemicals of which we still do not know the effects. Non organic apples are sprayed with 21 different pesticides, strawberries 184, and coffee has tested positive for hundreds of toxic chemicals, more thanany other crop.

So when I find a food company that is Non GMO, organic gluten free and excuse me if I am chirpy, super excited and highlighting them like they are heros of the universe. Because considering that my children are my universe, they are.

China has a double standard regarding GMOs. While their officials have a sign proudly declaring the oil in their cafeteria GMO free, the school cafeterias for the children of citizens do not.

The sign in the accompanying photo hangs in the corridor of the Ministry of Education building in Beijing. It begins, “Our Canteen Does Not Use Food Containing GM Ingredients.” It further states, “The issue of whether GM food is harmful to human health is currently without consensus within academia. GM food has only appeared [in China] for a short period making it very difficult at present to appropriately assess it's impact on long-term safety. Further research and longer time is required for verification. To eliminate the concerns of diners, and to assure the safety and health of our staff members, our Ministry of Education Office Canteen temporarily will not use food oil containing GM ingredients and GM food materials. Please enjoy your food without any such concern.”

The officials must be well aware of the potential GMO health implications.  But are they aware of the increased risk to children? Perhaps they don't know how, in the US, which grows many of the GMO crops China imports to process GMO soybean oil, has an EPA allowable level of 40 ppm of glyphosate? Glyphosate is sprayed on GMOs:canola, cotton, corn and soy oil, and as a drying agent on non GMO crops such as rice, wheat, corn, soy, sugar. And .10 one tenth of a part per million has been shown to destroy gut bacteria which is the strong hold of our immune system. Glyphosate has been linked to autism, allergies, auto immune, asthma, diabetes, obesity, ADHD, alzheimers and depression...all health issues which are skyrocketing in America's children? Or do they? Is that why they themselves are avoiding them?

Moms Across America has hundreds of testimonials from Moms whose children are getting better by going GMO/Glyphosate free. We wish the parents of China to know this too. We wish the officials in China would understand the possible jeopardy they put their country in by allowing GMO/glyphosate into their school cafeterias.

Our country serves our children 31 million GMO meals in schools per day. It must be hundreds of millions more in China.

"Our school in Arkansas has 170 out of our 600 children in Special Ed and this does not include the children with autism who are in the regular classrooms. 50% of all our students have either asthma or allergies. They are ALL eating these GMO meals and for many of them they are the only food they get because we are in a low income area, and they are always hungry. The food does not have enough nutritional value and they are being devastated, I believe, because it is GMO and chemicals. Our children are being devastated. This has to stop."

but from mother to parent-official, we ask you to reconsider rejecting all GMO crops. We understand, due to supply, it will need to be a slow process, but PLEASE start with your schools. We do not want to see the children of China end up like the children of America.

1 out of 2 children are projected to have Autism in the next 20 years or sooner. This cannot happen. What will our country be like? What would our society, military, job force and economy be like? Who will take care of aging parents or bear children and continue the success of our countries?

 For the officials who would like more scientific data here is a study on how glyphosate contributed to the over growth of deadly bacteria by destroying the benficial gut bacteria at lavels far below what is allowed in our food crops.

We urge all countries to stop allowing GMO oils, food, crops and animal feed in their country, but particularly China, as you import so much GM food to feed soo many. You have the largest influence on the GM industry. Please hear the cries of American mother who, since the introduction of GMOs and glyphosate in our food supply 20 years ago,  are dealing with gut dysbiosis in their children at extraodinarialy high levels, resulting in autism, auto immune disorders, allergies, IBS, Chrohn's disease, and contributing to asthma, depression, bi polar, acts of violence, obesity, diabetes and possibly the rise in childhood cancers.

No long term studies have been show to prove that GMOs and glyphosate, which are in 85% of our processed food, are not responsible for the USA being LAST on the list of the 17 most developed countries for health.

NO studies have been done to prove that GMOs and Glyphosate are not responsible for the devastating decline of our children's health.

We believe GMOs and Glyphosate are compromising an entire generation of our children, because we see the results everyday.

Millions of mothers, 1 out of 50, struggle everyday with children who cannot control their behavior in public or at home, who act violently towards family members, smear feces on the walls, inappropriate sexual tendencies, uncontrollable tics and movements, cannot control their urination even as teenagers. Children who showed no health issues at all and then all of a sudden did not speak, make eye contact or whose performance in school suddenly plummeted. Our children are being compromised by autism. They are suffering from a myriad of health issues. There is a silent epidemic happening in America. 1 out of 2 of our children now have some form of chronic illness in America. We ask, as mothers, for you, parents, officials in China and in countries around the world,  to protect your children of our human race.

"My story includes some things that might upset some people, I’m sorry if it does, but it’s the truth.  I am sharing some very personal things with you because I am real and the effects of GMOs on my life have been profound.  If GMOs were labeled it might have saved my son’s life.

It all started about three years ago in the fall of 2010, around Thanksgiving, when our son was 22 years old.  He had moved back in with my husband and I almost three years before.  He told me he was having gastrointestinal problems, predominately diarrhea that didn’t seem to be going away.  At first I thought it was a possible intestinal virus that would clear up on it’s own.  I encouraged him to drink lots of fluids and started asking him about what he had been eating.

After the Christmas holidays had come and gone, Joe wasn’t doing any better.  I had cleaned out my refrigerator of anything that had expired.  Hubby did some maintenance on our dishwasher and I even temporarily hand washed all the dishes.  Nothing seemed to help.

After the beginning of the new year, Joe went into the doctor’s to find out what was causing his malady.  Test results for bacterial, viral or parasites were done and everything showed up “normal”.  It was anything but.

I hadn’t heard about GMOs, nor did I know much about what was being done to our food.  I wish I knew then, what I know now and that is what compels me to share this with you.  However, I didn’t learn about GMOs until much later in my story.

On marzo 4, 2011, it was Joe’s 23rd birthday and it was also the day he took his own life.

How could she have known? She couldn't! NO ONE thinks to look for ingredients that they do not know about. NO ONE can tell if an ingredient is in a product if it is not labeled. NO ONE can connect a potentially life threatening ingredient to their family member's illness if IT IS NOT LABELED and they DO NOT KNOW that they are feeding it to them! NO ONE!

This is exactly why the opposition DOES NOT WANT GMOs labeled however, they do not want us to be able to link their ingredient to our illnesses. Because then they lose money.

We moms will not let money or denial stop us. We have the gift of gab. We come from love. We will share.

Nancy Swanson has done extensive research that we Moms with little ones just do not take the time to do. 

We are very grateful for her charts which very clearly depict a correlation between GMOs sprayed with Glyphosate and numerous childhood and adult illnesses which plague or families in America.

I recently looked up just one city in the USA. Sacremento CA.

Out the top five reasons for the death of children 57% of them were conditions (SIDS, congential birth defects, anomalies etc) that we are seeing a correlation to GMOs and Glyphosate.

Childhood deaths is tragic enough. For the living we hope for smooth sailing.

But studies now show that 50%of our children will have Autism in the next 20 years if we continue at the current rate.

High rates of autism could compromise the future success of a child, our families, our society and economy. This is urgent.

Awareness about this correlation and further conclusive studies should be the number one priority of the CDC and AAP today. The FDA and EPA need to do their jobs and protect American health!

Thank you to the researchers and scientists who are assembling this information. It DOES correlate with what Moms are seeing, which is that when we remove GMOs ( and glyphosate) from their diet and they eat organic food, their health conditions improve.

A new Soybean Paper comparing 31 soybean batches shows that GMO soybeans ARE substantially different from non GMO soybeans, are drastically less nutritious, and are contaminated with toxic levels of glyphosate.

ABSTRACT

This article describes the nutrient and elemental composition, including residues of herbicides and pesticides, of 31 soybean batches from Iowa, USA. The soy samples were grouped into three different categories: i) genetically modified, glyphosate-tolerant soy (GM-soy); ii) unmodified soy cultivated using a conventional “chemical” cultivation regime; and iii) unmodified soy cultivated using an organic cultivation regime. Organic soybeans showed the healthiest nutritional profile with more sugars, such as glucose, fructose, sucrose and maltose, significantly more total protein, zinc and less fibre than both conventional and GM-soy. Organic soybeans also contained less total saturated fat and total omega-6 fatty acids than both conventional and GM-soy. GM-soy contained high residues of glyphosate and AMPA (mean 3.3 and 5.7 mg/kg, respectively). Conventional and organic soybean batches contained none of these agrochemicals. Using 35 different nutritional and elemental variables to characterise each soy sample, we were able to discriminate GM, conventional and organic soybeans without exception, demonstrating “substantial non-equivalence” in compositional characteristics for ‘ready- to-market’ soybeans.

The entire basis of GMO foods not needing FDA long term human safety testing because they are "Not substantially-unequivalent" to non GMO foods is FALSE*. Did you see the levels of Glyphosate?

Glyphosate is the active chemical ingredient in Roundup ( most widely used herbicide) and has been linked to autism, Alzheimer's, asthma, allergies, auto immune disorders, diabetes, bi polar and more. The average levels found below are tens of thousands times higher than what was shown to be toxic in an animal study in Europe: .1 ppm. Breast cancer cell growth proliferated in the presence of glyphosate in an Asian study at a tenth of a part per trillion. The allowable levels are outrageous.Even if they do meet "EPA allowable levels" these standards are for a 175 pound man, not a baby or child. There should be NO glyphosate in our food. The science for glyphosate, claiming it is safe is now 20 years old. The latest research show glyphosate causing organ damage, damage to gut bacteria(therefore the immune system), impairing of the liver's function to detox and breaking down of the blood brain barrier, allowing toxins in. Well, I don't really drink soy milk or eat much Tofu, you may think..so I don't have anything to worry about. Do you drink lemonade at restaurants? There is soy in there. Do you eat chinese food with soy sauce? Snack bars and processed foods with soy lecithin? Eat beef jerky? Fries at restaurants? Soy, Soy, soybean oil. Soy products are in huge amount of our foods and this paper points out clearly that we are being robbed of nutrients, contaminated with a harmful chemical and frankly, lied to by Big Ag and Big Chem.

If Roundup/Glyphosate does this to food bacteria, what is it doing to the bacteria in our gut lining ( ie: immune sytem)? It would't take a rocket scientist to surmise that Roundup/Glyphosate is most likely destroying our gut bacteria, and therefore the stronghold -70% of our immune system.
