We at Moms Across America know it’s discouraging to learn about high levels of toxins in conventional foods and organic too. The enormity of contamination in much of the food supply feels daunting. Much of our rain, air, irrigation systems, and soil are indeed polluted. However, organic selections are still the best path to managing exposure.
We have reviewed thousands of test results, and we can state with confidence that across the board, except for highly processed foods like protein powders (where fraudulently labeled lentils and peas were clearly the culprit), organic foods, even if contaminated with glyphosate for instance, had levels thousands of times lower than their conventional counterparts.
Lee masUnveiling Lab-Created Meat
With its approval for sale in the US last November, lab-grown meat is being hailed in the mainstream media as a solution to global hunger while reducing the environmental impact of traditional animal farming. (Lab-grown chicken was later approved in March). But what if it isn’t safe, and what if its carbon footprint exceeds that of grass-fed animals?
Lee masGlyphosate in Food: Avoid These Contaminated Products
Reposted from ConsumerNotice.org
Glyphosate is a chemical found in some weed killers used by farmers. It is estimated that more than 80% of Americans are exposed to glyphosate. Find out which food products are contaminated with this chemical and how to limit your exposure.
Lee masLetter from our Founder and Director
As spring blooms into summer, we relish in the explosion of life all around us on the farm. In the heat of the day the bees are buzzing around the Calendula, Borage, and Sweet William flowers, fireflies bespeckle the pastures in the evening, and golden finch bird calls wake us at the cool hours of dawn. We are reminded every day that life goes on no matter what. Animals need to be cared for, weeds need to be tended, and our children need to grow and thrive.
Lee masHEART HEALTH: New Awareness, Diagnostics and Prevention
All too often, heart disease goes unseen. But while symptoms are widely unrecognized, heart disease kills more people than any other disease in the developed world. It is the number one cause of death in America and the number one killer of women. Heart disease claims the lives of more women than breast and lung cancer combined.
Many early symptoms of heart disease are identical to anxiety and indeed they often go together. Because of this, women are too often dismissed when it comes to these warning signs. Doctors frequently tell them their symptoms are psychosomatic; they’re given anti-anxiety medication and sent on their way.
Lee masMexico Confirms Glyphosate Ban Date as Environmental Groups Slam U.S. Govt Interference
Reposted from: The Detox Project
The Center for Biological Diversity and Greenpeace México have strongly condemned the United States’ heavy-handed intervention into Mexico’s decision to phase out genetically engineered (GE) corn that’s produced using pesticide-intensive farming practices and the herbicide glyphosate. The new U.S. agriculture trade chief Doug McKalip demanded Mexico provide answers to questions about the planned phaseout by Feb. 14 as part of the United States’ threats to respond to Mexico’s decision with punitive steps, including filing formal trade complaints.
Lee masGetting the Word out about 'Apeel'
Article by Valerie Wilson - mayo 30, 2023
I have been telling everyone I come across about the new toxic coating ‘Apeel’ that has been approved to be put on our fruits and vegetables. So far, I have not come across anyone who has heard of it. I have a booth at the local farmer’s market and last Thursday, here in Westland, Michigan where I live, I had flyers to hand out about ‘Apeel’. No one had heard of it and the people who sell produce at the market had not either and they were very interested to learn more about it.

Reprinted from: https://commongroundfilm.org/press-news/
From Kiss the Ground filmmakers Rebecca and Josh Tickell, Common Ground, narrated by Laura Dern, presents an urgent message about the poisonous practices within American food systems. At the forefront of this plight are the farmers and families who have lived through tragedy and illness at the hands of government policies that favor Big Ag and big profits. In acknowledging how racism has forged today’s farming industry, regenerative farmers are returning to pre-colonial practices pioneered by indigenous and Black farmers to restore soil, keep Americans alive, and leave a legacy for generations to follow.
Lee masFood Testing Proves GMO Labeling is No Longer Enough
Reposted from detoxproject.org.
Toxic GMOs have infiltrated the food system significantly, according to research conducted by The Detox Project. And this is why it matters:
A 2001 study found that men exposed to glyphosate at work were between 20% and 26% more likely to develop non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In fact, workers who came into contact with Roundup for 2 or more days every year were 212% more likely to get lymphoma than people with fewer than 2 days of exposure.

Moms Across America applauds the work of this stellar research team, as we continue to conduct our own testing and tirelessly spread the results of others: The results of the most comprehensive glyphosate testing of food products ever conducted in the U.S. were released by The Detox Project detailed report that shows the true levels of weedkiller contamination in essential foods sold by some of the top grocery stores in the country. The world’s most used weedkiller, glyphosate, was discovered in a wide range of essential food products including bread, pulses, and grains from top grocery stores such as Hy-Vee, Whole Foods Market, Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
Lee masGene-Edited GMOs: The Answer to Superweeds Or A Covert Tactic To Avoid Regulation?
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have been a serious threat to human health for decades. Aside from creating nutrient-deficient food and contributing to illness in general, the environmental perils of genetically modified agriculture have centered around the chemicals used alongside GMOs, like Roundup. This is because these chemicals cause the development of superweeds and superbugs—pests that are impossible to fully control because they have developed resistance. But are gene-edited varieties the answer?
