Chick-fil-A

Total Count: 1,975

Dear Andrew T. Cathy and Board of Chick-fil-A,

Moms Across America, a nationwide non-profit, initiated an extensive testing program on the top twenty fast food brands in America, including Chick fil-A, plus one restaurant, California’s In-N-Out Burger. Forty-two samples of 21 brands were tested for the most widely used herbicide in the world, glyphosate and AMPA, 236 pesticides, 104 veterinary drugs and hormones, Heavy metals, Minerals, Vitamin B’s, calories, fats and proteins and PFAS and phthalates.

The results of veterinary drugs and hormones:

A Chick fil- A sandwich tested positive for a veterinary drug, Nicarbazin, an antiparasitic which is also a known aviary contraceptive.

While the levels were low, no reliable assumptions or predictions can be made regarding the accumulation and effects of such a contraceptive drug when consumed on a daily or weekly or even monthly basis by potentially millions of Americans.

Moms Across America is deeply concerned about the presence of this bird contraceptive in your food products. We, and the public, request that Chick fil-A take these results very seriously and make immediate changes to its sourcing.
Chick fil-A also had concerning levels of METALES PESADOS cadmium and trace levels of lead in your products.

The Chick fil-A chicken sandwich contain 16.13 ppb of glyphosate, the nuggets had trace levels. 0.1 ppb was shown to destroy beneficial gut bacteria in animal studies.

Chick fil-A products were also abysmally low in vitamins and minerals. For example an adult would have to eat 9 servings of Chick fil-A nuggets to receive the USDA recommended daily intake of copper in one day. An imbalance in copper and zinc balance is widely prevalent in people with autism.

To meet recommended daily intake of Vitamin B3, a woman would have to consume 333 Chick-fil-A sandwiches and a man would have to consume 380 in one day. Numerous studies show a deficiency in Vitamin B3 has been linked to increased aggressive and violent behavior. Americans need Chick fil-A and every food manufacturer to help reduce violent behavior in America by providing nutrient dense, safe and non-toxic food.

What can you do to provide safe, non-toxic and nutrient dense food to your Chick fil-A fans?

We request that Chick fil-A alert your suppliers that you will be transitioning to sourcing chicken meat for your restaurants from suppliers who regularly test for the presence of veterinary drugs, pesticides, and heavy metals. This is essential for basic human health at any level of consumption of your food.

To reduce the presence of heavy metals in their products the supplier will need to source fertilizers (the most likely source of the heavy metals found) or other agrochemicals that do not contain heavy metals (like glyphosate based herbicides).

The primary source of glyphosate is usually the wheat. The wheat crops are often sprayed with glyphosate as a drying agent and the residues do not wash, dry or cook off. Wheat suppliers do not have to spray glyphosate or any toxic chemical as a drying agent. Regenerative Organic farmers successfully harvest without these agrochemicals.

To reduce glyphosate herbicide residues in the soil (which can remain for decades) plant pathologist Don Huber PhD. recommends the following product to remove glyphosate from the soil before transitioning to regenerative, organic farming. The product "PaleoPower Microbial from Ancient Organics Bioscience, Inc has been shown to remove glyphosate from the soil in 30 days: They have research and results on glyphosate and AMPA degradation in the soil utilizing their product.

A non-toxic weed killer and drying agent solution is Contact Organics. Contact Kathleen at Livkleen.com or through Contact Organics.

We ask Chick-fil-A to lead the way with safe, non-toxic and nutrient dense food such as organically and regeneratively grown wheat products, meat free from veterinary drugs and hormones, and chicken high in nutrients to support the health of your customers, the soil, and our great country.

Thank you,

Sincerely, Zen Honeycutt and Moms Across America

Background

Why we tested fast food:

Fast food is consumed by eighty-five million Americans each day, and many chains are often the suppliers of school lunches. Thirty million school meals are served to our children each day, and for millions of underprivileged children, these toxic meals are their only access to nutrition. Our previous testing has shown that America’s school lunches are indeed toxic.

To further investigate the status of a major source of food and nutrition in America, Mamás en toda América supporters, including Children’s Health Defense, the Centner Academy, and many individual supporters, recently initiated extensive testing focused specifically on America’s most popular fast food chains to explore the potential contamination of our food supply, which is likely affecting our physical and mental health.
